I'm not sure, but all the people here do seem to think so. And reading back through the archives, it looks like most of them eventually do experience at least one vision, or memory, or whatever you want to call it.
I suppose it doesn't help that I can't possibly imagine what sort of hallucinations I might have. I'm afraid I'm almost breathtakingly normal — honestly, to the point of being outright boring, perhaps.
For that matter, I don't know if being normal or not really has an impact. If the key here is having the application - for whatever reason, since no one seems certain how users are chosen - and it covers such a wide variety of people...it almost seems like there isn't a commonality between everyone, although I imagine it's just that we don't have the data we need to notice the link. From my research on earlier posts I've learned that triggers seem to be something sort of related to...whatever people remember? But sometimes the things they remember are weird.
I've also learned they like to post a lot of random pictures, sometimes of animals. So that's fun!
...As though one scenario jogs the memory of the other, you're saying? So — in your case, for example, seeing someone being arrested leading to the notion of your, ah, frog-man doing the same?
I was talking with someone about arrests and frogs doing the arresting because - well, the topic got away from us, actually, and went in weird places.
Less ridiculously, I did earlier during our codebreaking discussion "remember" having broken a code before. Only I don't know what language the thing I was working on was in. It was kind of vague, but definitely came up after something similar came up.
Right! I think some people do experience similar memories (or seem to talk about sharing them sometimes?) but I'm not sure what causes that, either.
At least half the theories floating around seem to be generally joking, so I'm not certain anyone has an actual solid working one. Or not that they've admitted to, anyway. Which I suppose makes sense if people are maybe concerned about how ridiculous it sounds??
And particularly so when the administrator of the app both appears to be watching and is going out of his way to taunt any users who might attempt to offer up something of value.
The nail that sticks out gets hammered down, and so on.
He seems to hold himself out as some sort of authority, at least; that's the impression I took, anyway. Perhaps in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter, though. The point is more that he comes with the company brand attached, and therefore in some capacity he's a representative of the greater whole. It gives his words weight.

Maybe we're both just very dedicated to themes?

For the record, I do think the flashback things are real! Or I am getting really imaginative suddenly about really strange things.

And that makes you MORE convinced that these hallucinations are legitimate?

For what it's worth, I didn't feel anything of the sort, so it's evidently not a shared experience — just a unilateral one.

Yes, exactly!

I do wish we knew more about these people. But that's probably done on purpose, right? Not giving the company much of a face or a name.
